- We'd like to officially announce the arrival of Nils Scurvy on electric bass. He looks like a bio-engineering accident involving DNA from Dolph Lundgren and Johnny Rotten, and he plays bass like he's possessed. Hell, in two weeks of practicing the guy broke his shoulder blade and had to go get stitches after putting his knee through a window. Yeah... he's gonna fit in just fine! We'll update his profile as soon as we can.
- Nils made his first appearance with the band back on Nov. 06 (his first SHOW will be Dec. 11), appearing in the Go Kustom Films production of Hotrod Girls Save The World. DSR performed "One Day Closer" from our next upcoming album and American Sick-O. The Wages Of Sin also performed. Stills from the night can be seen here: http://go-kustom.com/stills11-06.html
- DSR has once again taken the reigns on oour own booking. The CONTACT page has been updated to reflect this change.
- Got a couple great shows in the works. WWe'll see you Dec. 11 @ The Fenix with The Red Elvises AND The All American Playboys. DragStrip Riot plays 2nd. See the shows page for details on our New Year's Show!
- In CD news, things got pushed back a litttle so we'll attempt to begin tracking in Dec.

- It's ugly when the newsdesk gets away from us! Ok... where to start? First, there was the Deadbolt show in May; What a blast! Another sold-out crowd, and James and Knuck ended up walking the streets of Ballard still drunk at 3 in the afternoon the next day. Then in the following months we got to play with some of our favorite bands: 80 Proof YOB (CAN), The All American Playboys, Graveyard Shift... And along the way we played with some bands we'd not met before: Go Like Hell, Jackmove, and 1234! were all absolutely fucking amazing. With the talent cropping up in the NW you can expect the next big record industry rush up here soon. In June we got to open for the Red Elvises which of course was a blast, and in July DSR played with former drummer Frosty's new band at an East side all-ages gig. Been a great few months since last we updated the news page.
- Motor Mike and Knuck appeared as zombies in Go-Kustom Films' "Hotrod Girls Save The World" to be released god knows when. DSR will perform in a live sequence in the movie as well.
- Alkhemy Entertainment secured DragStrip Riot an endorsement through EMG Electronics. Thank you Alkhemy and thank you EMG.
- DSR has been writing and playing lots of new songs lately (Damn!, Crimson Cove, In Flames, Down & Out On Saturday Night, Weekend Warrior and more), some of which will probably be on the second album slated to begin tracking in August. No title has yet been decided
- The Candid Photos section of our gallery has finally gotten some work done on it and we stuck a few entertaining photos up there for your viewing pleasure.
- Added an interview with Knuck done for Artsy Noise web-zine to the Press section.
- DragStrip Riot returns to the Graceland... DSR is 4th in an eclectic 5 band line-up on Saturday, July 31st. On the bill is Burn The 8 Track, Boss Tweeter, Hex County, and Drown Mary; For your seven dollars you'll hear punk, garage/surf, southern rock, metal, and the sweet sounds of DSR! See y'all there.

- DSR is proud to announce our endorsement by DiPinto Guitars! You can bet you'll see us slinging these fine instruments on stage in the near future. A small guitar boutique out of Philledelphia, DiPinto has been making innovative retro-influenced guitars to rave reviews since 1995. Their line includes semi-hollowbody archtop guitars and basses, solid-bodied surf rockin' guitars, and solid-bodied heavy Mosrite style rockers. To the layman, these guitars f'ing rule! We're in good company at DiPinto with endorsees such as Rick Nielsen of Cheap Trick, Dick Dale, Jack White of White Stripes, Rocket From The Crypt, and Los Straitjackets. If you're a musician, you seriously need to check these out, and if a store doesn't carry them, tell them they should.
- DSR would also like to announce an endorsement by Dirtbag Clothing. The name says it all...
- Remember folks, we'll once again be joining forces with Deadbolt on Saturday, May 01 @ Tractor Tavern. Also on the bill are the new Seattle sensation The Octabites.

- So often we're asked when we'll play an all-ages show. We rarely do them but we will finally be playing an all-ages show on Sunday, April 09 @ Hell's Kitchen in Tacoma. The show starts at 5pm with 4-5 bands on the bill, and we're headlining. This is a benefit show for our friend Jooley. So you under-21'ers should come out en force and convince us to play more all-ages shows!

- Thank you to The Haunted Cathouse on KCPR Radio (San Luis Obispo, CA) for voting DSR's debut CD one of the 10 best albums of 2003! Look for more DSR in 2004!
- We are currently ahead of Guana Batz on the Rock N Roll chart section of Vitaminic.nl, a Netherlands mp3 site. Sure, it ain't Clear Channel, but hell... The Guana Batz rule so that's a hell of a compliment.

- Bremerton knows how to party! A big thank you to Alkhemy Entertainment, and Kimm Heydel for putting together a great show. Thanks to the audience that bought out every one of our CD's. Thank you to Nicole Deville for putting up, and putting up WITH both DSR and The All American Playboys, and providing us a place to drink after the show; and thank you to the Seattleites that came all the way over to Bremerton for the show (Ashley, Vetala, Shawn, Heather, etc.) See you all on March 13 @ The Catwalk.
February 26 , 2004
- Alright you southies, we're going to be in Bremerton tomorrow. Small lil' island with no particular place to go... Nice to have a CAPTIVE audience! We're bringing the All American Playboys to really turn the place on its ear.
- BIG SHOW coming up in March. We'll be headlining a night of deliciously devilish fun at the Catwalk in Seattle, on March 13. For $10 advance, or $15 at the door, you'll see two burlesque troupes (Burning Hearts Burlesque, Glitzkrieg), two go-go troupes (The Go Go Ghouls, The Cage Kittens), and three bands (DragStrip Riot, White Knuckle Ride, The Rotten Eggs). You can buy tickets now at The Catwalk or pay more at the door.
- Got some new songs on the way for all of ya's. Look for a new blues song called "Down & Out On A Saturday Night" to be played at our upcoming shows. We're in discussions about recording the 2nd CD, and we'll have an all-star line-up participating this time! You'll hear members of The All American Playboys, Dusty 45's, and possibly The Dirty Birds (once we ask 'em) jamming on this one.
- We have updated not only the entry of our site to include an amazing drawing done by a member of Motor Mike's extended family, but the discography section to include the Bad Taste "Soundcheck" sampler CD, the band members pages to include what gear we use, the Interviews section to include a piece done by Cheap Shot magazine (from Seattle), updated the Links page, and lastly we changed the message board to be easier to read.
- Check out Motor Mike at Ugly Bass Player! Congrats Mikey!
- Oh, and a huge thank you to the members of Honky for a hell of a show at the Funhouse. We can't wait to go down to Austin and do it in their yard! Also a big thank you to the Load Levelers who never disappoint, so it's almost futile to mention that they kicked ass.
January 14 , 2004
- Not a lot of news in the DSR camp. Just a bunch of new shows coming up. Look for DSR in Bremerton and Tacoma soon! We promise to reach more areas outside of our home base in the new year. Call it a resolution if you want. Be sure to come down and support the band on January 20 at the RE-BAR. We'll be performing with Burning Hearts Burlesque, Quick 66, and Foul Mouth Scoundrels, not to mention a load of "naughty" nurses that will be on hand. Can't beat that with a stick (no really, it's not suggested)!
- Thanks to everyone for coming out and kicking ass with DSR at the EMP last Friday, and thank you to all those down south for a great welcoming in Tacoma.
- Thank God that SickBoy Dan is back from vacation!
