- We've been busy, busy, busy lately. Thanks to Lee Rocker & the Fenix for one of DSR's favorite shows we've played to date. Not only did we have a great audience, but we got to play with a man who is an idol to all members of this band. After that the band was invited to play with the Load Levelers for a private benefit held by the Resurrection Motorcycle Club (Seattle). The fellas in The Resurrection are a great bunch of guys and we hope to share beers with them again in the future. Playing with Load Levelers was a blast and you can bet your ass we'll do some shows with them again.
- DSR goes pro! Ladies and germs, we are pleased to announce our partnership with Alkhemy Entertainment Group. Welcome Chyna Stone, the band's personal manager and PR guru. Look for bigger and better things happening for the band in the future.
- New shows announced! DSR will be playing a couple shows with contemporaries such as Memphis Radio Kings, Dollar Store Cowboys, Slop Shot, and Wages of Sin. Be sure not to miss our Dec. 19th or 20th gigs to hear the annual DSR Christmas carol, "I'll Be Broke For Christmas".
- We got a hold of a few copies of the Split Seven comp, "Attack of The Hotrod Zombies" which includes bands like Redneck Girlfriend, The Slanderin', Hotrod Hillbillies, The Deadbillies, and Devil Doll. We have a very limited supply of these CD's for sale at our shows, so get 'em while they're hot.

- DATE CHANGE: The Doc Maynards gig has been moved from to October 17. The line-up remains intact with Slop Shot opening, The All American Playboys in the middle, and DSR headlining, with The Gun Street Girls performing between sets. Spread the word!
- Advance tickets for the Nov. 15 show with Lee Rocker are available now through Ticketmaster.
October 03 , 2003
- Some changes have been made to our live schedule. The Oct. 3rd gig w/ Lee Rocker has been postponed until Saturday, Nov. 15. Additionally, the Oct. 4th gig w/ Lee in Portland has been cancelled. This is all due to scheduling constraints on Lee's part, but rest assured that the Nov. 15 (Fenix - Seattle, WA) date is set in stone. Tickets will be available through Ticketmaster for $12.00. For those of you who want to see the flyer for the show, it's been added to the Flyers section of the DSR gallery
- Thanks to everyone who showed up to give Sweetpea a SOLD OUT show on her birthday. Deadbolt kicked ass, despite the many, many shots of tequila.
- Apologies to everyone who showed up to see us on Aug. 23rd at the Hotrod A Rama. Knuck was late showing up to the gig and the other bands weren't willing to change the line-up, so we had to settle for playing the CD over the PA system. A thank you to everyone who made us the highest selling act at the event despite the fact that we didn't even play.
- New photos from the Aug. 22 show at Tractor Tavern have been added to the Live Gallery.
- Check out the PRESS section to see new reviews from Seattle Punk . Net, Cozmik . Com, and Celebrity Cafe. While you're there, click the INTERVIEWS section to read our latest interview with Bad Taste Magazine from Poland. Knuck, SickBoy, and James all fired back to the questions.
- Remember to come see us with Slop Shot, The All American Playboys, and the Gun Street Girls on Oct. 18 @ Doc Maynards.
August 17, 2003
- The band just got back from an amazing show in Woodland, WA at The Bash #3 put on by the Checs Car Club. There were some amazing artists, bands, techs, and some incredible cars. DSR played for about an hour and a half in the blazing sun but had enough beer to keep us cool. Shortly after the set the band was interviewed for an upcoming feature / spread in CK Deluxe so keep your eyes peeled.
- More DSR video shoot info! The location where we'll be shooting is underneath the New Orleans Restaurant in Pioneer Square. It's part of old underground Seattle so it's really creepy, and really muggy down there. The conditions are a bit rough and some legal issues must be considered, so a few rules need to be in place: No sandals or Birkenstocks, NO A.F.I. t-shirts, NO visible major clothing labels or slogans, NO patchuli, and NO whining when it gets hot down there. If you're in a band and want to wear your band's shirt in the video, please do. We firmly believe in promoting our local scene. No flash photography while cameras are rolling! This is your chance to get your mug on camera. It will be a free event and will likely fall on a weekend DAY. Plan on being there, a date will be announced soon.
- There's a good chance that the Deadbolt show this weekend might sell out. For advance tickets go to http://ticketweb.com . See y'all Friday!
July 31, 2003
- DSR has located and secured a location to shoot our first video. We'll be shooting in part of the old Seattle underground and look to have a few hundred extras for concert footage and there will be dancing girls etc. We're going full production on this one with a full film crew that was involved with projects included in the Seattle International Film Festival. The track we'll be shooting for is American Sick-O. The date of shooting will be announced here so keep an eye out, and tell all your friends to show up to be in the video.
- New shows listed. Coming up in October we'll be playing Seattle and Portland with Lee Rocker of The Stray Cats fame, as well as FINALLY doing another show with the All American Playboys. It's been a long time!
- The DragStrip Riot CD is now available all over the place. You can find it for purchase at Hepcat Records, Amazon.com, Raucous Records, Scratch Records (CAN), Flying Saucer Records (CAN), CD Connection, VH1, CD Universe, and Djangos / Cellophane Square
- Thanks to everyone who came out to the last Redneck Girlfriend show, and thanks to RNGF for having us. We can't say enough good things about 80 Proof YOB who absolutely tore the roof off the joint. Beer swilling, filthy joke tellin' bastards - it was love at first drink when it came to DSR and the YOBs. You can bet your asses we'll be playing with those fellas again. Get'r done!
-Check out the Press link for some new reviews!
June 25, 2003
- The July 17 performance at Tractor Tavern has been cancelled. Due to some unforseen scheduling conflicts for the Load Levelers, they had to pull out. Furthermore, the Paladins are playing that night at the Sunset and if we don't have to play, we're all going to be there watching them! There will be another gig set up with The Load Levelers again in the near future. We wish them the best of luck on tour! Kick some asses (like singers of other bands rolling on the floor) and take some names for us boys.
June 21, 2003
- NOTE: After a few tumultuous years, Zak's 5th Ave. Saloon is closing its doors. The owner hasn't paid rent in ages so the cops are closing things up as of June 27. What does this mean to you? This means that DragStrip Riot's performance schedule for June 29 has been moved to the Lobo Inn on Eastlake. The same bill is in place: The Bratz start things off followed by The Means, then DragStrip Riot and The Strap-Ons closing the show.
Thanks to Zak's for years of punk rock service.
June 18, 2003
- Well lookee here! DragStrip Riot's website has a new look. Now all you folks sending us e-mails asking where you can get our shirts (not OUR shirts, but the ones with our logo on 'em) can buy 'em here. Also, finally got James' info up on here. Look for newer photos to be posted soon!
- Locally, Tower Records in Seattle will soon be carrying the DragStrip Riot CD.
- Lots of great new shows announced! Look for upcoming gigs with the Load Levellers AND Redneck Girlfriend!

- The Lakepointe was fun if not a bit of a wash. Though it was fun playing with Alice In Chains and Dokken... er... Sorry. Though it was fun to play with Pug and Nightshade (hilarious 80's metal with even more hilarious fans) the club took it upon themselves to pay us like it was a house party despite the fact that we played on a moment's notice and still put on a hell of a show (sans one guitar even)! Hey, at least the club got one decent band that night.
- Lots of new shows posted in the SHOWS section! Check it out and show up to make some noise.
- The new website is coming along. It will be up soon, we swear.
May 23, 2003
- DragStrip Riot has been signed on, last minute, for a headlining bill at the Lakepointe for Saturday, May 24. We'll be going on at 11:30pm and we're joined by some bands called Nightshade and Pug. We have no idea what they sound like but what the hell; we gotta bring them Kenmore folks the real rock n roll. So if you don't have anything going on, and especially if you don't have anything on at all, get your asses down to the Lakepointe on Saturday night.

- Thanks to everyone who came out to see us in Seattle and Vancouver B.C. last weekend. DragStrip Riot just got back from Canada with band-aids on our livers, a new alternator in the truck, and some fierce hangovers. We started the weekend with an all-night jam at the Baranof including an acoustic set of DSR originals, various off the cuff covers including Big Balls by AC/DC and SickBoy's tear wrenching rendition of Every Rose Has It's Thorn. We followed our set with an impromptu jam with David Frampton (wrote hits for various bands throughout the 60's and 70's) and Dan Hicks of Steely Dan on Old Time Rock N Roll. The next morning it was off to Vancouver B.C. where we headlined a show at the Railway Club with the Deadcats & Raygun Cowboys. Seattle heavyweights the Makers were even in attendance that night. Vancouver ate it up and then we drank all their beer. What a blast!
- We'll be playing TONIGHT (May 22) at EMP with The Dirty Birds (from Olympia). It's a free show so come on down and blow off some mid-week steam.
- Radio, Radio - Keep those phones ringing at the local stations and help get DSR on the air. Let's focus our attention on KGRG in the coming weeks. Requests for "American Sick-O" can be made at the following: (253) 833-5004, (253) 924-0180 Ext. 2198/2199. We thank you in advance for your cooperation.
May 14, 2003
- The shows section has been updated to include a number of newly booked performances. THIS FRIDAY (May 16) DragStrip Riot will perform 3 sets starting at 9:30pm at the Baranof in Greenwood. There's no supporting acts, just an intimate evening with DragStrip Riot. There's a chance we will pull out the acoustic guitars for this one.
May 10, 2003
- DragStrip Riot's gonna be breaking in their new drummer tonight at the Lobo! J.D. joined us round about May 01 and tonight is his first official show with the band. Beer is cheap at the Lobo so come on down! For those of ya that can't make it out, DSR will be playing our next show in town (playing Vancouver B.C.May 17) at the EMP on Thurs. May 22 w/ the Dirty Birds.
May 01, 2003
- DSR has finally decided on our permanent drummer going forward. James "The Hammer" Neithamer (former drummer for 3 Inch Max) has come on board and brought along his lead foot & heavy hands; this guy is loud! Technically versatile, but aggressive as all get out, James puts the middle finger back in "hello" and adds a new element to the band's already eclectic sound. It's only gonna get better from here kids! We've already started writing new tunes with him and when we play our next few upcoming gigs we'll be premiering a few. Also keep your ears peeled for a new Misfits cover when you see us live. Hey, old habits die hard!
- New shows announced! Got one with Deadbolt coming up in August...
- Though our tunes are being spun all around the rest of the country on college radio, Seattle has turned a cold shoulder. Our beloved host of KEXP's Shakin' The Shack, Leon Burman owns a copy and he SHOULD be playing it. Please call in and support a hard working band by requesting they play it on the show. Suggested singles are American Sick-O, 36 Inch Wheels of Death, and Suspicions. All have radio friendly lyrics! You can call 206-903-KEXP or e-mail dj@kexp.org between 6-9pm every Friday night to request our songs. For those of you out of state, start the phones ringing at your local stations and tell them to play it. If they don't have it, have them direct their promo requests to sebasstian@go-kustom.com
March 11, 2003
- Some people have asked where they can buy the album. Well here ya go: BUY THE CD HERE
March 01, 2003
- The cd release party kicked ass! The place was packed until the end and a lot of people picked up the album. Thanks to The All American Playboys for a hell of a show. Thanks goes to our Go-Kustom street team; Lindsay, Melene, Sheri, d.A. and Vetala for helping to organize sales, photography, video, etc. What a blast!
- Drummer: "Freight Train" Tyler Creighton has been kicking some serious ass with us live. Still no word as to whether or not we get to keep him but we're hopeful. Hats off to Tyler for really coming on strong at the last two shows!
- A second review for our album was published and you can read it here: http://www.adequacy.net/reviews/d/dragstripriot.shtml
January 30, 2003
Well... been a while since an update so it's about time. Here goes...
- DSR CD RELEASE! That's right, you've been asking since we started this thing and now you have an answer. The album will be ready for sale next week, and our CD RELEASE PARTY happens on Feb. 21st @ EMP. Opening the show is DJ Leon Burman w/ Shakin' The Shack broadcasting live, then the All American Playboys, and then DSR. If there was only one band we'd want there for our release it would be them.
- DSR REVIEW. We got our first review on an advance copy of the album that was sent out. You can read it here: http://newsreview.com/issues/sacto/2003-01-23/mixmusic.asp
- If you've heard rumors that we've broken up you're hearing some utter bullshit, as is evidenced by the info above. However, if you've heard the rumor that we're looking for a new drummer you're right. Mr. Frost has decided to pursue interests outside of music such as getting married and settling down. We support him in whatever decisions he has to make though it's a great loss for the band. So now we need someone with the aggression that Frosty had who can step up to the plate and kick some ass. E-mail info@dragstripriot.com if you are or know of a good contender.
